Wk1-Q4- "Lord Lord"

Who are the people being spoken of in Matt 7:21-23?
"Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22 On that day many will say to me, 'Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?' 23 And then will I declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from me, you
workers of lawlessness.' " --Matthew 7:21-23 (ESV)

  • Are they surprised?
  • Do you think these people practiced Biblical self-examination?

I think they were suprised because they thought and were taught that God would forgive you no matter what but that taking advantage of God's grace

No becasue if they had been then they would not be suprised when he turns away from them

Yes. This is the verse that is labeled in my Bible "the scariest verse in the Bible"

Let's all work out our salvation together!
